SEVEN

The Grand Touring Gravel

THE BRIEF

Built for the Long Road

The "7" on the head tube once made passersby think our brand was called 7. The client needed a reliable heavy-duty touring bike, equipped with custom titanium racks, tubeless tires, and electronic shifting.

After checking SRAM inventory, we went with GRX825 and DT SWISS GRC1400. The total weight came in at just over 9kg — the rear rack contributing its fair share. As always, we designed the frame based on the client's fitting data, modifying the STR values from his existing road bike to achieve a reach and stack that matched his personal handling style.

ENGINEERING

The Custom Titanium Rack

Custom Titanium Rack Detail

For the custom rack, we repeatedly simulated installation positions and load forces in 3D modeling. Balancing lightweight and design language, the rack avoids excessive tube stacking.

A reinforcing loop bar was added at the rear to prevent deformation under heavy pannier loads — a detail that emerged from the transition from 3D model to fabrication drawing.
